Meet Audrie
Judge Audrie Lawton Evans has over 20 years of comprehensive legal experience in the public and private sector. An experienced civil litigator with close to 50 jury trials, she has served as a Harris County Civil court judge since 2021. Judge Lawton Evans is a highly respected jurist who also serves as the administrative judge for all Harris County civil courts, helping manage the court system.
Judge Lawton Evans began her legal career at the Texas Attorney General’s Office representing various state agencies. Following that she served as a disciplinary lawyer with the State Bar of Texas, holding attorneys to the highest ethical standards. She went on to help protect our communities by serving in a specialized unit prosecuting repeat sex offenders in civil commitment proceedings with the Special Prosecution Unit of Texas.
With nine years in private corporate practice, Judge Lawton Evans learned to manage a high volume litigation practice while overseeing a staff of almost 50.

As a devoted wife and mother of 2 daughters, Judge Lawton Evans learned the art of balancing a high paced legal career with family life and to this day balances her judicial responsibilities with membership at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, and in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and Jack and Jill of America.

She is the only candidate in the race who has prior trial experience, which contributes to her familiarity with courtroom proceedings and legal challenges that may arise in cases influenced by state or federal actions.
During her tenure at the Office of the Texas Attorney General under Greg Abbott, Audrie gained experience working with state-level legal matters and interacting with various Texas officials, including those in the Governor’s office.
